Diwani Athumani

Former TISS chief (Tanzania)

Diwani Athumani Msuya, popularly known as Diwani Athumani, was a career officer in the Tanzania Police Force.

He is a former chief of Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) and later appointed head of Tanzania Intelligence and Security Services (TISS) by President John Magufuli.

• Deputy Director Criminal Investigations, Tanzania Police Force (2013-14)

• Acting Commissioner of the Criminal Intelligence Commission, Tanzania Police Force (2014-15)

• Director Criminal Investigations, Tanzania Police Force (2015-16)

• Regional Administrative Secretary, Kagera Region (2016-18)

• Director General PCCB (2018-19)

• Director TISS (2019-22)

• Permanent Secretary, State House (2023)

Miscellaneous:-

• Established an Intelligence Directorate in PCCB (2019)

• Served less than two days as Permanent Secretary in the State House before being sacked by President Samia Suluhu Hassan (2023)
