Hasanah Abdul Hamid was a former chief of Malaysian External Intelligence Organisation (MEIO), whose cover name is Research Division of the Prime Minister's Department.
Known Professional History: Prime Minister Najib Razzak was in office from 2009 till 2018. It was sometime during this period that Hasanah was appointed Director General of MEIO.

Hasanah was acquitted and discharged for criminal breach of trust involving $12.1 million belonging to the Malaysian government (2018)
She wrote a letter to CIA Director Gina Haspel seeking American support for Prime Minister Najib Razzak's administration and in which she further chastised Dr Mahathir Mohamad as 'anti-West' and 'anti-Semite'; the letter was leaked to the press and later acknowledged by Hasanah (2018)
She passed away in May 2023 following a battle with cancer.
