Jayadeva Ranade

Former Additional Secretary R&AW

Jayadeva Ranade is a former Additional Secretary of India's Research & Analysis Wing (R&AW).

He was directly recruited in the Research & Analysis Service (RAS) cadre and voluntarily retired prematurely in 2008.

Ranade is recognised as a proficient authority on China.

Known Academic History:-

• Diploma of Advanced Proficiency in Chinese from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi

• Intensive Introductory Course in Mandarin and a Diploma in Mandarin from the University of Hong Kong

Known Professional History:-

• Representative in Hong Kong SAR

• Station Head at the Indian Embassy in Washington D.C.
