Jayadeva Ranade is a former Additional Secretary of India's Research & Analysis Wing (R&AW).
He was directly recruited in the Research & Analysis Service (RAS) cadre and voluntarily retired prematurely in 2008.
Ranade is recognised as a proficient authority on China.
